How the Deakin & Withers Fund helps individuals

Jane (not her real name)  received a grant of £1,017 from the Deakin and Withers fund after having been widowed at the age of 60 and was struggling to pay for the funeral expenses of her late husband.

Jane at the time was living on a bare minimum income whilst she attended college three times a week for English lessons and was relying on Employment Support Allowance and had no means of paying for the cost of the funeral.

After she found out about and applied for the fund she accepted their offer of assistance and has been able to pay off all debt relating to the funeral and its costs.
