Sir Samuel Osborn's Deed of Gift Relief Fund
The Sir Samuel Osborn's Deed of Gift Relief Fund provides grants ranging from £250 to £1000 for applications that fall in to two main categories: education and special needs.
Sir Samuel Osborn headed one of Sheffield's great tool steelmaking families, who at their peak virtually monopolised the world's manufacture of tool steel back in the 19th century.
The fund has previously only been available to former employees or their dependants of the Osborn company (which ceased to exist in 1978), although now the fund is open to any individual resident in the city of Sheffield.
