About Us

The South Yorkshire Community Foundation raises funds from

It then uses these funds to meet the needs of local people facing economic hardship and other barriers to aspiration, thereby improving lives in our communities.

We meet the needs of communities, and of individuals in certain cases, through the delivery of grants and through community support, connecting people who care to causes that matter most.

SYCF is a registered charity established in 1986 and created for and by the people of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield

South Yorkshire Community Foundation is a community foundation - unlike other charities, you can decide what happens to the money you donate and how or where it is spent.

We welcome gifts of all sizes to benefit charitable and community groups in South Yorkshire.

We offer a cost effective way for donors to make a long term difference to the causes closest to their heart. Through our understanding of local issues, SYCF can make perceptive and well-targeted grants that will secure the future of generations to come.

After going through the process of incorporation, SYCF is now a company limited by guarantee (No. 7545536) with charitable status (No. 1140947). This information replaces our old charity number (No. 517714).
